Lex Charters

Terms & Conditions

📌 Booking & Payment

All bookings are processed through our trusted partners (Boatsetter, GetMyBoat, or other licensed platforms).

Payment, deposits, and refunds follow the rules of the booking platform.

Additional charges may apply (fuel, captain’s fee, marina or docking fees).

📌 Cancellations

Cancellations and refunds follow the booking platform’s cancellation policy.

No-shows or late arrivals may result in forfeiting the booking without refund.

Trips canceled due to unsafe weather will be rescheduled at no cost or refunded (per platform rules).

📌 Bareboat Charter Requirements

This vessel is offered only as a bareboat charter.

Under U.S. Coast Guard rules, the charterer (renter) becomes the temporary owner for the duration of the trip.

The charterer is responsible for hiring and paying a USCG-licensed captain.

A vetted list of licensed captains can be provided for convenience, but final selection and payment are the charterer’s responsibility.

Maximum passenger capacity is 12 guests (including children), in compliance with USCG bareboat regulations.

📌 Fuel Policy

Fuel is not included in the base rental price.

The charterer is responsible for fuel costs, billed at actual usage unless a flat fee arrangement is made prior to departure.

📌 Safety Rules

The vessel is equipped with all required USCG safety gear.

Children under 12 must wear life jackets at all times.

Illegal drugs, reckless operation, or unsafe behavior are strictly prohibited.

Navigation limits: Florida East Coast and the Bahamas, up to 20 miles offshore.

📌 Liability & Insurance

During charters, coverage is provided under the booking platform’s per-trip insurance program (e.g., Buoy), which includes passenger liability.

The charterer is responsible for any damage to the vessel or equipment beyond normal wear and tear.

The LLC’s insurance policy covers the vessel only when idle, for private use, or for marina compliance — not during charter operations.

📌 Weather & Operational Policies

The captain or owner may cancel or reschedule a trip due to unsafe weather, mechanical issues, or other safety concerns.

In such cases, the charter will be rescheduled or refunded in accordance with the booking platform’s policies.

📌 Age Restrictions

The charterer (primary renter) must be at least 25 years old.

Alcohol is permitted only for passengers aged 21+.

Minors must be supervised by an adult at all times.

📌 Waiver Requirement

All passengers must sign a Waiver & Release of Liability before boarding.

The waiver acknowledges the risks of boating (motion of the vessel, slips, falls, water activities, etc.).

Refusal to sign will result in denial of boarding and forfeiture of the charter fee.
